Mr. Sullivan, my 12th grade English teacher, made us dress up in Burger King crowns and sword fight with paper towel tubes to make sense of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Here at the American School in Guadalajara we are going to use the internet instead. In the posts below, follow us as we seek to understand why this really is the greatest play in the English language.
Well since Shakespeare loves tragedy and I love it too, let's make it tragic... Everyone dies. Everyone as in every main character and support character dies. Something along the lines of Hamlet killing his way to Claudius in the end and the last three deaths in the order of: Gertrude, Claudius and then Hamlet himself.

At this point of the play, the end of Act 4 will end with even more deaths. The duel or fight that Laertes and Claudius were planning will occur, but Hamlet will fight Claudius first and put poison in his blade. Hamlet wont just cut him, I think he is going to stab him continiously. Of course, Gertrude must watch, so she will see how his son kills his current husband. Laertes will try to stop Hamlet, but he will be stabbed also. In the end, Gertrude will not take anymore tragedies and will commit suicide, an easy way out for her. Hamlet will end up being king, like he deserves.

... What to expect of Shakespeare? i would have to agree with Daniel, everyone dies, exept for the most trivial characters like Horatio. Laertes is going to get killed by Hamlet in the sword duel, and raged in anger, Claudius is going to procede into murdering Hamlet, i suspect something is going to happen with Claudius as well ... Perhaps, the revenge of Gertrude for killing her ex- husband? Perhaps not... too much of a Hollywood ending. Many deaths for sure, and drama.

I think that when Hamlet comes back for the supposed fight with Laertes, Laertes won’t be able to stab Hamlet, and when Claudius tries to poison him with the glass, Hamlet won’t take the glass, knowing that he will try to poison him. After the fight, Hamlet will, stab Claudius, and then the play will end. Hamlet will become king and everyone is happy.

I belive that Hamlet will get poisoned in the duel but he will be victorious. But befor he dies he will kill Claudious and he will go to hell as Hamlet goes to heaven and meets ith his father.

My prediction is Leartes is going to die in his failure to kill Hamlet. Then at the moment of the poison the poison is not going to work, and then Hamlet will kill the king, then as it is the duty, Hamlet will be killed for murdering the king. After this happens Gertrude is gong to find the truth and devastated for her actions, she will suicide.

I believe it will have a bloody ending, just as "Romeo and Juliet". The main characters will die, murdered or killed by their own hand.(which I believe it will be Hamlet) One by one each character will die till theirs just Hamlet, and when he realizes and meditates of all that has happened, he will slice his wrist and cry.

I know that the ending will have a taste of Shakespear ending. I think that ophelia will die, the King will the die and hamlet will suicide at the end of the scene. I think this will happen because Shakespear always put a unic ending

ReplyDeleteI believe that this play will finish with an astonishing ending, the victims of the murder, claudius and gertrude will end up dead, but not by hamlet i believe gertrude will die of an outside cause such as accident or natures fault, and hamlet will go on with his life and ruling denmark as he was supposed to do it. Horatio will become his right hand and ophelia will miracously heal from a medication the ghost of his father will bring to him.
i think the play will conclude by hamlet dieing but not in the ways they tried to kill him, i think someone is going to drink the poisned drink and that they will end up swaping swords, but i think hamlet is going to die, as well with claudius and laertes

A tragedy... what to expect? More deaths in my opinion, the sword duel between Laertes and Hamlet will bring one death which will be Laerte's. Hamlet will come out victorious but still not avenged. He will go after Claudius and they will both die. Claudius by Hamlets sword, Hamlet by the poison which will give him just enough time to kill Claudius and avenge his father.

I think that this play will end with the death of everyone except Gertrude. I say this because Hamlet will end up killing the king and the king will kill Hamlet at the same time. Or maybe instead, Ophelias brother will kill Hamlet after Hamlet has killed the king. This will leave Gertrude alone and maybe after being witness of all this drama she will commit suicide in the end.
